The Map

Map Display

For display purposes, each sector of a map is divided into 4 quadrants. The upper left quadrant displays the sector's wormholes, the upper right quadrant displays the sector's planets and asteroids, the lower left quadrant displays any alien ships in the sector, and the lower right quadrant displays ships of the same race as your ship. Clicking on any of these quadrants will give you additional information about the wormholes, planets, or ships that are present. You may customize the number of sectors displayed on your maps.

Strategic Map
The strategic map shows an overview of the entire solar system. Each map sector displayed represents many sectors of actual space. The sun is at the center of the map. Planets, ships, and wormholes are displayed in various sectors depending on their relative distance from the sun. We have a screen shot of a strategic map with the display size set to seven sectors.

Tactical Map
The tactical map shows only a small area surrounding your ship. Each sector displayed represents one sector of actual space. The sun, planets, ships, and wormholes only appear on your map if they are close enough to your ship. We have a screen shot of a tactical map with the display size set to seven sectors.
