![]() | Humans "Humans" is used as a generic term for all two-armed, two-legged lifeforms. Over 50 billion humans crowd the surface of the planet known as Earth, and spend most of their time dealing with the complex beauracracy of the Unigov. Private ownership of spacecraft is once again being allowed due to enormous bribes paid to Unigov officials. A lucky few are able to sweet-talk the venture capitalists into backing their "license fees" and purchase of a small starship. |
![]() | Bugs Bugs come in many different shapes and sizes, depending upon the function they were hatched for. When the Queen dies, maternity drones scatter pupae to various locations around the homeworld and the outlying planets. These pupae are developed into new queens, and the entire bug population fights a civil war until there is only one queen left. The new Queen has finally eaten the last of the pretender queens, and the bugs are now prepared to expand outside their home system. |
![]() | Robots A flawed program running on the central computer spread across the communications networks, causing the robots to kill the race that designed and built them. With the builder race gone, the simpler robots continue to mindlessly perform the functions they were designed for, while the more complex partially-organic robots create new goals for themselves in an attempt to reconcile their conflicting software programs. |
![]() | Old Ones Members of this race believe that they are the oldest in the galaxy, and that through genetic manipulation they created and guided the development of the other races. For an unknown number of years, the Old Ones have focused purely on internal matters, ignoring the rest of the galaxy as irrelevant and inconsequential. Most of the Old Ones still practice this philosophy. Factions are beginning to reassert themselves, however. The most powerful of these believe that they should return to their ancient ways of genetically, politically, and otherwise manipulating other races to serve the Old Ones' goals. A smaller faction believes that such interference is wrong, and that the other races should be free to follow their own paths. |
